In a statement, the AFL has confirmed that Victorian Police will investigae claims made by Hawthorn's Nick Watson on breakfast radio following the club's Thursday night clash against the Swans.
In the Hawks' 17-point win, the 21-year-old was certainly not a fan favourite amongst the Sydney faithful.
But speaking on Nova's Jase and Lauren, the small forward has said that opposition fans made their frustrations known by throwing a Coke Zero bottle towards the Hawthorn playing group.
Nick Watson: They were throwing Coke Zero cans out there. So.
Jase Hawkins: Like, full cans?
Lauren Phillips: ...at the players?
NW: ... Yeah. I saw one just go straight past me.
LP: No, you can't do that. Surely, you get dragged out immediately for doing that.
NW: Well, yeah, I don't know what happened with the guy... it just landed right next to us, lucky it didn't hit any players. But, yeah, a few players saw it.
Clint Stanaway: Well, good on you for calling it out.
LP: That's bad! You can't be doing that.
NW: I was giving him heaps, but not sure a Coke Zero bottle to the face in return, would have been nice.
In that statement, the AFL confirmed that the alleged offender is currently unknown.
