Who are the most important players heading into the 2025 AFL Preliminary Finals?

With just four teams remaining and a place in the Grand Final up for grabs, the best players from each side must step up and deliver in order to give their side the best chance of September glory.

And ahead of the final two weeks of football, Scott Cummings has released his power rankings based on the best players heading into the latter end of season 2025.

Featuring only players from the remaining sides, Cummings ranked each player from 10 to one on SEN WA Breakfast, basing his selections on their importance to their sides over the final fixtures.

See Cummings' rankings below:

Honourable mention: Oisin Mullin (Geelong)

“I was going to throw in Oisin Mullin. He will have to get the job on Jai Newcombe, and if he beats him, Hawthorn are absolutely cooked. I was really close to throwing him in there.”

10: Tom Stewart (Geelong)

“This guy is going to be massive.

“He hasn’t been the player he has for the last couple of years, but he’s got his form back, and he is going to be vital with the inside 50’s hawthorn will generate.”

9: James Sicily (Hawthorn)

“He was rock solid against Adelaide. He is just their general, if he is playing well they just don’t get scored on.”

8: Bailey Smith (Geelong)

7: Hugh McCluggage (Brisbane)

“In the first week they played, he was poor, and they were disappointing.

“He steps up, and Brisbane were elite.”

6: Jordan De Goey (Collingwood)

“We all know how important he is.”

5: Darcy Moore (Collingwood)

4: Harris Andrews (Brisbane)

3: Jai Newcombe (Hawthorn)

“They won’t win unless he plays like he has.

“The number one ranked player across all finals he’s played (in his career).”

2: Jeremy Cameron (Geelong)

1: Nick Daicos (Collingwood)
