FB: Lachie Ash (GWS) | Harris Andrews (BRI) | Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (STK)
HB: Josh Daicos (COL) | Sam Taylor (GWS) | Bailey Dale (WB)
C: Bailey Smith (GEE) | Noah Anderson (GCS) | Jordan Dawson (ADE)
HF: Max Holmes (GEE) | Jeremy Cameron (GEE) | Hugh McCluggage (BRI)
FF: Jamie Elliott (COL) | Riley Thilthorpe (ADE) | Kysaiah Pickett (MEL)
FOL: Max Gawn (MEL) | Ed Richards (WB) | Nick Daicos (COL)
I/C: Brodie Grundy (SYD) | Tom Liberatore (WB) | Caleb Serong (FRE) | Jordan Clark (FRE)
23rd: Jack Crisp (COL)

Despite opting to select two ruckmen, Johnson decided against the likes of Tristan Xerri and Luke Jackson, selecting Brodie Grundy to obtain a bench spot behind Max Gawn.

“I think what Brodie Grundy has done over the last seven or eight weeks has been outstanding. Max Gawn, I think he is still the number one,” Johnson said.

“The one that I think is stiff in a way is Darcy Cameron. I love the way he plays his footy and he’s not far away. Within the next couple of years, he should be taking the reins as potentially the number one ruck in the competition.”

Rather controversially, Johnno decided to place Adelaide skipper Jordan Dawson on a wing despite the Crows playing as a mid-forward throughout the season.

“There isn’t (a best wingman in the competition),” he said.

“That’s the problem this year, because last year you had Josh Daicos who was the number one wingman in the comp. He’s pushed back. Nobody has really stood out. (Jack) Crisp probably (could play) on the wing.

“Maybe there isn’t two ruckmen in there at the end of the day. Maybe it is just one ruck, because Jordan Dawson is in the All-Australian team.

“If we’re bringing Crisp on, Jordan Dawson needs to go to the bench. Bailey Smith - I’m happy with on the wing.”

Johnno also suggested that half-back flanker Bailey Dale must lift his performance for the remainder of the season in order to hold his spot.

“The next six weeks are big for Bailey Dale,” he said.

“He’s in now, but within six weeks… he’s one player that had that real high and was flying, and the opposition have just put more time into him over the last couple of weeks.

“There’s a bit of work for Bailey Dale to do to secure that spot off the half-back line.”
