Midweek racing at Doomben this afternoon where the track has been posted a Good (4) at acceptance time this morning. We’re in for a mostly sunny day with a maximum temperature of 25 degrees forecast. Later start today with the first of 7 races getting under way at 1.43pm. Couple of ‘shorties’ in the first couple who should be winning however from there on most races are ‘each-way the field’.
BEST VALUE
RACE 3 # 1 CANYA BERICH
Unraced filly from the Jack Bruce yard whose recent trials have been good & under no pressure whatsoever. Looks well placed today to go close on debut.
RACE 4 # 2 HOLY FLASH
Lightly raced galloper who takes a step up in grade today having won both starts this prep at Gatton & the Sunshine Coast. Having had only 6 starts there’s plenty of upside to come whereas his rivals have just about been as far as they will likely go. Well drawn, versatile, I’m sticking.
RACE 5 # 3 WHO ORDERED DAFISH
First up winner last prep who went on to race successfully all campaign. Although better suited on wet ground he’s still well up to winning this as his opposition don’t look up to much.
RACE 6 # 12 KELLY’S LANDING
Bolted in first up at Kilcoy by over 6L doing it both ends of the race. Yes, this is a tougher assignment however similar to the above race the field isn’t strong & with the rail out 11m may take some catching!
