Nick Lloyd

LEG 2: Doomben R5 (CLOUDLAND) - He's bringing some elite form to Brisbane on Saturday, and looks to get the run of the race from the good draw. We saw him only grabbed late by Territory Express and Willaidow first-up last prep in a Provincial-Midway Championship Qualifier, which is strong form. First-up this prep, he was very game in defeat behind Willaidow, and beat home two subsequent Sydney metro winners in World Alliance & Sir Artie. Up to 1350m suits.

LEG 10: Moonee Valley R9 (I WISH I WIN) - He's the class horse in this field, and I think he can overcome a couple of glaring negatives; 1000m around The Valley. He's had one run over 1000m in the past, and he was super on that occasion in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington behind Coolangatta, where he beat home Bella Nipotina & Nature Strip. He carries residual fitness from the Brisbane Winter Carnival, and should get a really nice run three pairs back, one off the fence. He can swoop late and be too classy.

Blake Johnston

LEG 6: Randwick R7 (AFT CABIN) - He should have won first-up last preparation in a similar race (Challenge Stakes) behind Passive Aggressive and then ran into trouble in the Galaxy. He struck a couple of wet surfaces thereafter in which he’s not suited. Gelded and has been trialling like a bomb.

LEG 8: Randwick R8 (HINGED) - She was taken back from the wide draw first-up behind Tom Kitten and only warmed up late - closed in similar late splits to subsequent winner Ceowulf. She can settle closer to the lead speed from the better draw, gets to her track and distance and a positive riding change with Rawiller going on.
