Craddock: The career Reynolds should take up after retirement

With Adam Reynolds yet to make a decision about his future once he retires, Robert Craddock thinks there is one profession that the halfback would be well-suited to.

2026 will be the final year of his 15-year playing career in the NRL for Souths and Brisbane.

But there are seemingly plenty of opportunities available to the 35-year-old when he hangs up the boots.

Already, the Broncos captain has dipped his toe into the media, having been part of the Fox League team this season.

Another option that's available to him is coaching.

During his time with the Broncos, Reynolds has already expressed a desire to join the coaching ranks within the NRL, having taken up a mentoring role for the reigning premiers.

That’s also a sentiment shared by coach Michael Maguire, who’s declared that he would love to see the two-time NRL premiership winner join his staff.

If he does join the coaching ranks, Craddock believes that Reynolds would be perfectly suited to the role.

“One thing I do think, and maybe this is just my opinion,” he prefaced on SENQ Breakfast.

“I remember being around when the Broncos started in ’88 and have seen hundreds of players come in.

“In terms of a player suited to coach post career, I’ve never seen a bloke more suited to it than Reynolds.

“Emotionally, he’s very stable. Tactically, he’s a real genius. He’s survived as a small man in a big man’s game.

“Fellow players respect him. He enjoys the research.

“So, gee, I think he’s a natural for a future coach.”

Having nabbed their first win against the Storm on Friday night, the Broncos now move their attention to the Battle of Brisbane against the Dolphins.

That will be held at Suncorp Stadium next Friday night.

SEN League will have live coverage of the match through Broncos Radio on SENQ and the SEN app straight after the conclusion of the Warriors vs Tigers clash.
