Brisbane’s Road to Magic Millions continues: Season Celebration Raceday

Brisbane’s Road to Magic Millions continues to gather momentum at Season Celebration Raceday, Saturday 27 December at Eagle Farm.

Headlining the program is the $300,000 Group 3 Magic Millions B.J. McLachlan Stakes.

This juvenile sprint has built a strong reputation for identifying future stars of the turf.

Big names Coolangatta and Storm Boy have won the event in recent years, using their victories as a launching pad to further success in the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Cool Archie ran second in last year’s edition of the McLachlan before going on a five-win streak during Stradbroke Season, culminating with the Group 1 Ladbrokes J.J. Atkins.

This record earned the colt Queensland champion two-year-old honours – as well as an Australian champion two-year-old nomination.

Season Celebration Raceday also serves as the penultimate raceday of Brisbane Racing Club’s summer carnival, with only a limited number of races remaining to secure valuable prize money ahead of Gold Coast’s main event on 17 January.

Featuring alongside the B.J. McLachlan as one of those key lead-up Magic Millions races is the Listed Magic Millions Falvelon.

The Falvelon offers $200,000 in total prize money, importantly it also serves as a wildcard for the Magic Millions Snippets, a $1million dash over 1200m.

Rounding out the day’s trio of black-type races is the Listed Seven Members Mile.
