BET OF THE DAY (Melbourne)

CRANBOURNE - Race 5 No.2 - BIG SEXY - Wide no cover in MCC Final and was still there swinging late. Beat all-bar winner of that race prior when raced off the hot inside rail. To 1500m is ok.

BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)

KEMBLA - Race 7 No.3 - ZEALOUSLY - Broke WFM track record fresh then only run over late Caulfield in G2. She has won her last two 3rd-up runs. Go well.

BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY

KEMBLA - Race 5 No.2 - OCEANFRONT - Flying since step-up in trips and beat Black Run two-back, that horse went to Randwick and beat key rivals here. Strong win latest too. Won 3 of 4 soft. The $10 looks juicy.

Cup analysis

Race 8 - Listed Cranbourne Cup - 1600m

15 - SABAJ - Held-up hopelessly in Silver Eagle then flew when (finally) clear then sharply to 1600m on wet Flem and rounded them up like a good horse. Draws wide again.

3 - AIR ASSAULT - Raced away in John Letts Classic latest off a tough win in Gawler Cup when only 2nd-up. Will have a big head start on Sabaj.. Danger.

14 - ENXUTO - Probably should have beaten Warnie and Co. and meets them better at weights. Had chance latest but was more run-ons race. Maps well. Good miler.

9 - JENNILALA - Back to 1600m and back in class looks the right recipe… She goes in everything for mine at a price ($23 early).

6 - HOLYMANZ - He was luckless in that Warnie race Derby Day and only 1st-up. There was money for him. Proven 2nd-up. Overs??

13 - STATUARIO - Hard to line up but top finale latest when sharply back in trip… Mile suits better!
