Parker: $1.6m deal to get Haas to Bears if I'm Mal Meninga

November 1 is almost upon us.

There’s plenty of talking going on behind closed doors but come Sunday it might become known to everyone.

The big talking point is who will be the marquee signing for the Perth Bears. I’ve said all along it will be Tino and I’ll stick with that, however, my big play if I was Mal would be Payne Haas.

I’d be happy to break the bank for $1.6m but I'm only doing a two year deal.

So if I'm Mal Meninga, here's who I would be wanting in my inaugural squad for the Perth Bears.

Trai Fuller - No.1 has a great opportunity, he is not first in line at the Dolphins. He doesn't break the bank.

Will Warbrick - Nice big, strong, aggressive winger on one side.

Jaxon Purdue - Has put himself on the open market and can play a range of positions.

Sean Russell - Can play wing or centre, he's off contract but I think his best football is still in front of him.

Jamayne Isaako - Will fill one spot and get the job done and goal kick for me.

Kodi Nikorima - He will fill a void for a year or two in the 6.

Tyran Wishart - He is looking for a start, he's had enough of playing 14.

Liam Henry - Up front, I have a huge wrap on him, he's behind a few players at the Panthers.

Jamie Humphreys - No.9, for those who don't know he came from Manly across to Souths, big body, loves the contact. His best footy ahead of him.

Payne Haas - No.10 if I can land him at $1.6m a season.

Marata Niukore - He's the bit of aggression we need.

Ryan Matterson - He's bounced around a few clubs, played Origin, he needs a new environment.

Kurt Capewell - Bit of a journeyman but we know what he brings and he will be well received.

BENCH

Billy Walters - For what we saw this season, this would be a great opportunity for him.

Blake Steep - Many might not know him but he is at terrific up and comer from the Roosters.

Liam Le Blanc - He played for Souths this year when they were decimated with injury. Very good player, no frills and gets the job done. Get him at a good price.

Zyon Maiu’u - He was at the Warriors, now at the Dogs and looking for a new opportunity. Great tearaway man.

Jaimin Jolliffe - Wants an opportunity, doesn't break the bank but gets the job done.

Griffin Neame - Throw him in
