Collingwood are not good enough to make the top eight in 2026, according to Dwayne Russell who has predicted some big movers and shakers.
In the aftermath of the 2025 trade period which saw some clubs make significant improvements to their rosters, Russell is not convinced Colling has done enough – or anything – of note to put them in finals contention.
Russell believes they will slide from 4th to 10th.
“There's a few teams that have improved their list,” he said on SEN.
“The lists, other than what will be picked up in the draft and delisted players, nothing will change.
Those players set to be picked up in February, most of them are back up players at best. “Collingwood, who were fourth this year, will go down, I think. They will fall out of the eight.”
Despite the significant changes to St Kilda’s player list heading into the new season, Russell had no place for them, instead suggesting they would only improve their final position by one spot to 11th.
