It's an announcement that likely comes with no real surprise for Kiwi cricket fans - the International Cricket Council have revealed a new five-year broadcast deal with Sky, reaffirming their status as New Zealand's exclusive broadcaster for all ICC men's and women's events through to the end of 2028.

Broadcasting live in Sky Sport and streaming on their Sky Sport Now and Sky Go platforms, the deal features 16 international events, including the ICC Men's and Women's Cricket World Cups, T20 World Cups for both, plus the ICC Champions Trophies, World Test Championship Finals and the Under-19 World Cups.

It all begins with the Men's T20 World Cup 2024 to be hosted in the USA and West Indies in June, followed by the Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh this October.

Last week, the Blackcaps announced their T20 World Cup squad to be led by Kane Williamson, along with an all-teal kit inspired by the 1999 World Cup side.

For New Zealand domestic cricket and the home summer of international cricket, TVNZ are the TV rights holders through until 2026, inheriting the deal from the defunct Spark Sport. SENZ holds the radio rights on a three-year deal, having completed the first summer of broadcasting with the White Ferns' white-ball series against England in April.

New Zealand radio commentary rights for the upcoming T20 World Cups are yet to be announced or confirmed.
